And Team 2 is the winner of the Dumb C .. & that happens to be us !

Well besides the bad time our company is facing it managed to organize some events for the diwali function and Dumb C was one of them.. Me and my buddy back into action .. After the college days we again grouped to form the unbeatable team. Cleared the prelims and we were in the cafĂ© where the finals were held.. There was three rounds, the first one being the advertisement .. We had to guess the Product and the tag line, it was pretty easy though we took sometime in this round.. The Product was BPL Believe in the Best, well hec though he found the product BPL, he forget the tag.. anyways managed to act it a bit and he found it.. The second one was movie, rather than miming, I had to draw it, so drew a small guy along with the big one, he identified it was kid and for the second word I just had to draw a guy in karate pose and wallah he shouts The Karate Kid. The third round being the toughest for us (though not for everyone) it was a proverb round.. I know that both of us sucked in this; but fortunately we got a easy one ‘Where there is will there is way’ I just had to mime ‘way’ and ‘will’ and my buddy gets the proverb. Eventually we were the only team who had completed all the three rounds successfully and we get to be the winner.. The best part was our practice session where we were working on the book names.. Anu a.k.a the boy in our team helped us by providing me some of the book titles and the best one was ‘Lossing my Virginity’ and guess what we managed to complete it in less than ten seconds ;) .. how would hav you mimed this book title !?

Best friend, my colleague

Well it was dream come true for me and Aravind, when I joined my new company where he has been for few months. We always had a wish of working for the same company, anyways that did not happen when we moved out of college. He joined Infy and me in Hex.. Now we are in the same company, same team but in different projects.. Things did change after I joined here.. though we see together a lot of time we only end up talking about the things in the office.. we at times forget that there is more than that.. and honestly I have not seen my best buddy get frustrated so much.. he used to be a cool guy.. I still remember the fun we had on our project demo in the final year of our college.. though both of our projects did not work, still managed to clear the stuffs and get a neat job.. Cant blame anyone for what we are in now, the job we have signed for is like that.. hope to see things calm down..

Golu

Well it’s Navratri again and its time for this year’s Golu and like every year we managed to set up the golu, not a big one though we tried to make it with 5 steps this time. For those who are not aware of this, try this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golu (long live wiki !!!).

To start with we have the temple idol at the top and the rest of the gods Krishna, Vishnu and Hanuman at the top most. Put on an eagle hanging from the top representing the Garudar. Mom was not happy about my idea of putting a skull in the middle of the idols neither was my sister. Well it was my weird idea of having the devil along with the gods. Anyways that idea was thrown to recycle bin. So we have the next step showcasing the idols of Dhasavatharam (not the different roles of Kamal though), along with the Astalakshmi idols.

Then we have a Gurukulam at the next step, managed to put my idea in this one; placed an idol of a gal and another guy chatting in the class (frying / kadalai) and there is this beer bottles in the middle of the class and there is one guy who hides one of the bottles for himself. Thanks to my nephew Varun’s idea of placing one of the bottle as if it was over .. that was a cool one.. Then we have this marriage ceremony set at the last setup. Well there are other idols and dolls included to fill in the place .. Here are the snaps of the golu.

Wall E

Long since I blogged.. There was this movie which everyone said is good. So there we were in Satyam with my sis, Aravind and his bro. We did not feel like it was an animated movie; the graphics were too cool .. There is this one robot in the whole earth whose only friend a roach, it does cleaning of the messed up world around it and collects some stuffs which it considers valuable. The story has a strong message as how technology may make a person very lazy. There is one scene where a guy falls from his hovercraft chair and struggles to get up because of his weight.. it shows if techonolgy takes over man then there might be a day where he may forget the normal way of living life.. The movie showcases love between two robots which may sound odd but has been taken in a very good fashion.. overall the movie was a good timepass and entertaining .. Except for the part after the interval where we got a Jumbo popcorn and struggled to finish it before the movie got over..
